Beach locations

We need sufficient open space and of course some wind to organize our powerkite clinics. That’s why we selected two beaches in the Algarve that are perfect for our needs. This way we can fly the kites in all wind directions and because we have a lot of different powerkite sizes we can organize clinics in almost all wind strengths as well.

We organize clinics near Lagos and near Carrapateira. Both spots are easy to reach by car with plenty of free parking space. If you don’t have a car available and want more info on transport options – just get in touch with us.

Meia Praia (Lagos)
Meia Praia is one of the longest sandy beaches in the Algarve, running from Lagos to Alvor with a small interception at the kitesurf lagoon. From our spot on this beach you can see the world famous cliffs and picturesque town of Lagos in the distance.
To make sure we have enough open space for our clinics we will meet on the far end of Meia Praia as seen from Lagos, just past the last beach bars. This part is easy to reach by car (10 minutes) or bus and is right next to the Meia Praia train stop with plenty of free parking space. If you feel like it you can even walk down the beach (about 30 minutes) to meet us at our spot.
The terraces of the two beach restaurants give a clear view of our spot for any group members that want to come along but not join the activity and a perfect spot for a pre or past-powerkite refreshment.

Praia Bordeira (Carrapateira)
Bordeira is one of the most stunning beaches in the world. The beach starts at the bottom of a steep and rugged cliff and spreads out long and wide into the dunes on the east and cliffs on the north. Although this is a relatively quiet beach, even in peak season, we will take a little walk to the north for our powerkite clinic. At this spot the wind will be more stable and we’ll definitely have enough space to set up our kites.

Praia Bordeira is located on the west coast, next to the cute fisherman’s town Carrapateira (with bars and shops). It’s about 40 minutes by car from Lagos and 20 from Aljezur. During peak season there is a beach bar located directly on the beach and just behind the dunes you’ll find restaurant O Sitio do Rio – known around the Algarve for its grilled fish. Our meeting point is the large parking area next to this restaurant from where we can enter the beach.
